About Lufthansa
Comfort, convenience and luxury altogether define Lufthansa. Deutsche Lufthansa AG, more commonly known as Lufthansa is the flag carrier of Germany founded in 1953 as Luftag. It is among the largest airlines of the world in terms of its fleet size with over 700 aircrafts. Lufthansa Cabins or Classes
Lufthansa mainly offers four travelling classes or cabins, which are as follows-
1- First Class
Lufthansa’s first class cabin is something special. It is probably the best first class offered by any airline in US. It is often regarded as one of the top five First Class Cabins offered by any airline in the world. This cabin is offered on most long-haul aircrafts operated by Lufthansa. It offers first class check-in counters on most airports with dedicated queues and first class VIP lounges. 2- Business Class
This is the second luxurious cabin offered by Lufthansa Airlines on all long –haul aircrafts. Dedicated business class check-in counters, VIP lounges are also offered on most of the airports under Business class. Meals are offered on demand and in a vast range of tastes and varieties. They are also planning to launch a new business class in 2022 that will offer some more unique facilities. Even the longer journeys will not make you tired or exhausted and you feel comparatively fresh on reaching your destination. Additional free baggage is also offered in some travels.
3- Premium economy
Lufthansa’s Premium Economy class is regarded as one of the most comfortable economy class with more space, more free baggage and a number of on ground and in-flight amenities. These cabins have up to 50% more personal space with a personal cocktail table in the armrest to enjoy your drinks with more handling convenience. A practical travel kit is also offered under premium economy class that helps you to feel refreshed when you land on your destination. A personal monitor screen allows you to enjoy a number of entertaining programs , videos and movies to relax and enjoy your journey. 4- Economy Class

Lufthansa Airline’s Baggage Policy
For Lufthansa Airlines, baggage information may differ in various conditions depending on a number of criteria. To know about the baggage size and allowances lets go through the following points-
General Terms and Conditions for Baggage
Make sure you have attached your name and mobile number to each piece of your baggage before checking it on the airport. Bag tags and stickers for your baggage are available free at the check-in counters of the Lufthansa Airlines.
Let’s go through the details of different types of baggage and allowance-
Carry-on Baggage
First and Business class passengers are allowed with two carry-ons. Economy and Premium economy class passengers are allowed with one carry on bag.
All carry-on items must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
Size- carry on baggage should not exceed the dimension of 55cm X 40cm X 23cm or 22in X 16in X 9in (length X width X height)
Weight- maximum allowed weight for carry-on baggage is 8 kg or 18 lbs
Checked Baggage
Following are the allowance and size for checked baggage in Lufthansa Airlines-
Economy Class- 1 bag up to 23 kg (50 lb)
Premium Economy Class- 2 bags up to 23 kg (50 lb) each
Business Class- 2 bags up to 32 kg (70 lb) each
First Class- 3 bags up to 32 kg (70 lb) each
For Frequent Flyers-
Economy Class- 2 bags up to 23 kg (50 lb)

Excess Baggage
In Economy and Premium Economy Class, a piece of baggage is considered to be excess baggage when it weighs more than 23 kg (up to a maximum of 32 kg) and/or larger than 158 cm (width X height X depth, up to a maximum of 292 cm.)
In Business and First Class, a piece of baggage is considered to be excess baggage when it is larger than 158 cm (width X height X depth, up to a maximum of 292 cm.)
Excess Baggage Charges
Economy and Premium Economy Class-
Larger than 159 cm = USD 150 within Europe/ between third countries and USD 300 on intercontinental flights.
Larger and heavier than 24 kg (up to 32 maximum) = USD 220 within Europe/ between third countries and USD 450 on intercontinental flights.
Business and First Class-
Larger than 159 cm = USD 150 within Europe/ between third countries and USD 300 on intercontinental flights.
Larger and heavier than 24 kg (up to 32 maximum) = USD 220 within Europe/ between third countries and USD 450 on intercontinental flights.
Lufthansa Airlines Cancellation policy
Our travel plan are often change for some reason and we also cancel our journeys sometimes. In such conditions Lufthansa Airlines offers a fair cancellation policy with easy cancellation process.
•Lufthansa Cancellation can be requested within 24 hours to claim a 100% refund of the ticket value, as the departure date is required to be at least 7 days prior to departure.
Beyond 24 hours, passengers are required to pay a Lufthansa airline Cancellation fee of $ 200 USD.
Lufthansa's flight ticket Cancellation policy would apply to the restricted and unrestricted fare rules of the purchased reservation.
Lufthansa's 24-hour Cancellation policy
The travel plans often Cancel without prior notice. Via the online interface, Lufthansa passenger flight reservations can be canceled and refunded online within 24 hours of purchase:
• Beyond 24 hours, Lufthansa's free Cancellation would not apply and refunds for the purchased ticket depend on the type of ticket purchased.
• Passengers who cancel within 24 hours will be eligible for 100% refund but the departure date must be at least 7 days or more from the Cancellation date.
Lufthansa Cancellation fee
Lufthansa charges a Cancellation fee of $ 200 on all fare types and the class of services booked, as per Lufthansa's Cancellation Policy
• All refundable fares would be eligible for Lufthansa flight Cancellation refund where, after dedication of the Lufthansa Cancellation fee, the remainder of the fare value would be credited back to the original payment method.

Compensation
Here is an overview of Lufthansa cancelling flight compensation in case of delayed flights:
Lufthansa flight delay occurs when the scheduled departure time is delayed by at least:
• four hours if the distance between point A and B is more than 3,500 km, Lufthansa's flight
compensation for Cancellation is $ 725 USD
• Three hours in the case of a flight between 1500 and 3500 km from point A and B, Lufthansa's
compensation for cancelling the flight is $ 500 USD
Lufthansa ticket Cancellation refund policy
• According to Lufthansa's Cancellation policy, the flight Cancellation refund would apply to the unused portion of the ticket.
In accordance with Lufthansa's Cancellation refund policy, the refund would be made to the passenger named on the ticket or to the person who paid for the reservation.
How to know whether the flight is cancelled?
To check the status of your flight, click on the "My reservation" section and log in with your reservation references and credentials. Any reservation that is cancelled will be displayed there.
Lufthansa’s 24-hour Cancellation policy
The airline has a risk-free policy (24-hour Cancellation policy). Through Lufthansa's 24-hour Cancellation policy, the airline allows passengers to cancel their flights for free. If you cancel within the risk free period, no cancellation fee will be charged.
